Exhibiting is somehow much less exciting than it once was. It was quite a thrill at first, when I was learning to present my work and finding my feet as an artist. But the truth is that few artists get much feedback or satisfaction from juried shows. Many of us find the entry fees and process frustrating and time consuming, when working in the studiois where most of the satisfaction happens.
I enjoying sharing my work with friend, and especially with other artists. I have the pleasure and privelege of sharing work with my community by displaying selected pieces in our Common House.
Working in the studio, and sharing with other artists, is where most of the satisfaction happens. Of course I do want my work to be seen, but ... I prefer exploring new materials and ideas (sculpture) to actually making shows happen! Preparing for exhibiting is a chore under the best of circumstances.
